agree with Dennis-wide ranging and insightful given your time within the laager-would be interested in your views on Thames airport and heritage groups treating council as an ATM

Not sure about recent situation with airport - it appears that there are great plans afoot to expand its commercial operation. All I can say is that it had better be self supporting. As for heritage, I think that the Treasury has sucked as much as should be made available by this community for a very long period - the supporters are of course very powerful in this town and have been very successful in putting their case. But that should be the end of it in my opinion, and Council should dig its heels in over any further claims, if any.
