Bill Barclay

There have been several complaints about the difficulty of circumventing the anti-spam security system used by my host/provider - Squarespace, while placing comnments.

I finally took it up with them yesterday, and am pleased to advise that the code device has now been removed, and this should enable a much better experience when attempting to post your comments in the future. In fact, I welcome any reasonable comment, and where necessary, will reply or provide additional information.

As it stands, I am emailed comments as they go up thus enabling me to moderate if I feel necessary. This has only happened on a very few occasions, and is designed for everyone's protection. I do have a legal obligation to ensure that defamatory material is removed ASAP, but as you will no doubt be aware, the actual law remains to be fully tested in that regard. In general though, the standard rules regarding truth and belief apply, and I don't seek to test them unnecessarily.
