Ombudsman Replies (5)

For those out there that have been following the exchange with the Office of the Ombudsman over the actions of staff and the grant made late last year to Guru Digital Ltd, here is their latest response:

"I am writing on behalf of the Chief Ombudsman Dame Beverley Wakem. Your complaints under the Ombudsman Act and Local Government Information and Meetings Act have been notified to the Chief Executive of the Thames Coromandel District Council together with a request for reports. In addition, I have asked the Council to advise at what level the funding decision was made eg full council, committee or officer level. (Decisions of the full council are outside an Ombudsman's jurisdiction under section 13 of the Ombudsman Act.)"

(Signed) Leticia Parry  Manager

The answers provided by the Chief Executive should make very interesting reading. I invite anyone with information that may assist in arriving at an answer to the question posed by the Ombudsman to be forthcoming.

For the sake of clarity here is the post related to this response.

And here is the original complaint to the Ombudsman.
