Communications 101

It has to be said that TCDC's communication of flood/road/power information today has been of a remarkably high standard - congratulations to the staff concerned - well done.

And while I am about, a first rate job also in reporting the Board decision on the Skate park facility and the awarding of the design contract.

There has been a real improvement in the PR communications over the last few months since the U turn from providing what was almost a daily bulletin on the success of every aspect of the Council's operation, and the free ride granted the Mayor. Someone finally cottoned onto the fact that few in the audience believed what was being said, and that the Mayor was running close to being in breach of the LGA leading up to the Election.

With its credibility zero, the penny finally dropped, and the change appears permanent - more power to Communication Manager Laurna White and Andrew Mehrtens in particular.
