Bus Service A Winner!

I tried the service today and found it first rate.

Dave the driver is personable and very helpful. I think it will take a little while for the route to settle - Dave already seems to know where various people will be waiting. And the schedule appears fine - he has no trouble sticking to it, and having a few minutes 'up his sleeve.'

The vehicle itself is excellent - very well equipped, though the seat belts are a little stiff, being new.

All in all, Denis Tegg is to be congratulated, along with the Thames staff who put so much effort in, though having the bus stop signs facing into the roadway was not a brilliant idea. Perhaps they need signs both sides so that passengers also know where they are. A timetable tacked to the posts would also be helpful, but these are mere quibbles.

The message needs to get out there and patronage build up rapidly.

Thames Taxis who operate the bus service are going to decorate the bus in Saturday's Santa Parade and are looking for a few volunteers to walk beside the bus and hand out flyers with route maps and the timetable. If you can help please contact Thames Taxis
