The presser about Chorus beginning the installation of ultra-fast broadband in July is the best news we have had in a very long time.

The bid was made back in 2015, and credit where credit is due - the staff responsible for compiling the application for priority installation deserve full credit. Here is the best news of all:

"The Chorus representatives said there would be no charge for the fibre to be laid directly to your home or business from the street, provided your driveway was no longer than 200 metres long. There will be a charge for installation if your driveway is longer than that. The only other cost to consumers to connect to ultra-fast broadband is what their service provider (eg Spark, Vodafone, etc) charges."

Te Puru and Coromandel town follow in 2019 and 202o - Whitianga in 2022
